2. Transcripts and Summaries - Text transcripts and AI-generated summaries (stored locally using iOS SwiftData)

   • Recording duration statistics
   • AI processing events
   • App launch and usage patterns

Data Storage

Local Storage

• All audio recordings are stored locally on your device
• Recordings remain on your device and are never uploaded to our servers
• Transcripts and summaries are stored locally using iOS SwiftData
• You have complete control - delete recordings anytime
• Data is protected by iOS device encryption

Cloud Processing (Optional)

When you explicitly choose to process a recording with AI:

• Audio files are temporarily sent to third-party AI services
• No data is permanently stored after processing
• You must explicitly tap "Process with AI" - no automatic uploads

When you request AI processing, your data is sent to:

Important: You can use SOND without AI processing - recordings work offline without sending data to third parties.

How We Use Your Data

Audio Recordings

• Stored locally on your device only
• Used to generate transcripts when you request AI processing
• Never shared, sold, or used for any other purpose

Analytics Data

• Understand how users interact with the app
• Identify and fix bugs and crashes
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Anonymous and not linked to your identity

We DO NOT:

You Have the Right To:

1. Access Your Data - All your data is stored on your device, accessible anytime
2. Delete Your Data - Delete recordings anytime (swipe left → Delete) or uninstall the app
3. Opt Out of AI Processing - Simply don't tap "Process with AI"
4. Export Your Data - Export recordings and transcripts via Share sheet (PDF, Markdown, Text)

Data Security

Security Measures:

• ✅ All local data protected by iOS device encryption
• ✅ Network communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• ✅ No passwords or authentication required
• ✅ No cloud storage of recordings
• ✅ Third-party AI services use industry-standard encryption

Important: Your data is only as secure as your device - use Face ID/Touch ID and device passcode.

Children's Privacy

SOND is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

When you use AI processing features, your data may be transferred to:

Data Retention

How Long We Keep Your Data:

• Audio Recordings: Kept on your device until you delete them
• Transcripts/Summaries: Kept on your device until you delete them
• Analytics Data: Retained by Firebase for 14 months, then automatically deleted
• Crash Reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days

Automatic Deletion:

• Uninstalling the app deletes all local data
• Third-party AI services automatically delete temporary processing data
